🚀 Quickstart
Connect to athenahealth with Nango and see data flow in a few minutes. This integration uses 2-legged OAuth with a JWT client assertion: Nango signs a short-lived JWT with your private key, and athenahealth verifies it against the public key set (JWKS) registered on your app. There is no client secret and no end-user OAuth redirect.1
Create the integration
In Nango (free signup), go to Integrations → Configure New Integration → athenahealth (JWKS). Enter your Client ID, Key ID, Private Key, and Scope in the Settings tab. See the setup guide. These are entered once and reused by every connection.
2
Connect a practice
Each connection represents one athenahealth practice. Create it by selecting the Hostname and entering the Practice ID. See the connect guide.
3
Call the athenahealth API
Make your first request. Replace the placeholders with your Environment API key, integration ID, connection ID, and practice ID:Or fetch credentials with the Node SDK or API.✅ You’re connected! Check the Logs tab in Nango to inspect requests.
