Astro (MCP)

The Astro MCP server is an Astronomer Labs feature. Contact your Astronomer account team to have it enabled before connecting.

🚀 Quickstart

Connect to the Astro MCP server with Nango and call MCP tools in minutes. Astro MCP uses OAuth 2.0 with dynamic client registration, so no app registration is required — it signs you in with your own Astro credentials and respects your existing permissions.

Create the integration

In Nango (free signup), go to Integrations -> Configure New Integration -> Astro (MCP).

Authorize

Go to Connections -> Add Test Connection -> Authorize, then log in with your Astro credentials. Later, you’ll let your users do the same directly from your app.

Call an Astro MCP tool

Make your first MCP request (initialize handshake). Replace the placeholders below with your Environment API key, integration ID, and connection ID:

Install Nango’s backend SDK with npm i @nangohq/node. Then run:

📚 Astro (MCP) guides

Nango uses dynamic client registration with Astronomer’s MCP OAuth server. You do not need to register an MCP application. The Astro MCP server currently provides read access to Deployments, Workspaces, environment objects (connections and variables), and Organization settings, plus Otto skills like Airflow upgrade planning.
