Overview
To authenticate with Tenable, you will need:
- Access Key - Your Tenable API access key.
- Secret Key - Your Tenable API secret key.
This guide will walk you through generating these in your Tenable account.
Prerequisites:
- You must have a Tenable Vulnerability Management account
Instructions:
Step 1: Generating your API keys
- Log in to your Tenable Vulnerability Management account.
- Select the Settings icon, then select My Account.
- Select the API Keys tab.
- Select Generate. This replaces any existing API keys for your account — any integration using the old keys will stop working.
- Tenable displays your new Access Key and Secret Key.
Copy both keys and store them securely — Tenable only shows the Secret Key once, at generation time.
Step 2: Enter credentials in the Connect UI
Once you have your Access Key and Secret Key:
- Open the form where you need to authenticate with Tenable.
- Enter your Access Key and Secret Key in their respective fields.
- Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.
You are now connected to Tenable.
