# Smartlead.ai - How do I link my account?

# Overview

To authenticate with Smartlead.ai, you need:

1. **API Key** - A key that grants secure access to the API, enabling authorized applications to interact with Smartlead.ai resources and services.

This guide will walk you through generating your API Key within Smartlead.ai.

### Prerequisites:

* You must have an account with Smartlead.ai.

### Instructions:

#### Step 1: Generating Your API Key

1. Log in to your [Smartlead.ai](https://app.smartlead.ai/app) account.
2. Click on your profile and select **Settings**.

3. On the **Settings & Profile** page under **Your Profile** tab, locate your **API Key**.

#### Step 2: Enter credentials in the Connect UI

Once you have your **API Key**:

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with Smartlead.ai.
2. Enter your **API Key** in the designated field.
3. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.
