# How to register your own TIMOCOM OAuth app

> Request an OAuth client from TIMOCOM and connect it to Nango

This guide shows you how to obtain your OAuth credentials (Client ID & Client Secret) from TIMOCOM. These are required to let your users grant your app access to their TIMOCOM account.

<Note>
  Each TIMOCOM client can only use a single grant type, decided when TIMOCOM registers it. Nango uses the **authorization code** grant, so request a client registered for that grant type.
</Note>

<Steps>
  <Step id="request-test-credentials" title="Request test client credentials">
    [Contact TIMOCOM](mailto:api@timocom.com) to request API access. In your request:

    * Name your organization and the APIs you need, for example the Profile API.
    * Ask for an OAuth client using the **authorization code** grant type.
    * Give `https://api.nango.dev/oauth/callback` as the redirect URI.
    * Ask for a test user.

    TIMOCOM sends you test client credentials (**Client ID** and **Client Secret**).
  </Step>

  <Step id="add-credentials-to-nango" title="Add your credentials to Nango">
    In Nango, open your TIMOCOM integration's **Settings** tab, enter your **Client ID** and **Client Secret**, and add the scopes your app needs, for example `profile:company:read`.

    Only request scopes for the products you intend to use. TIMOCOM's launch checklist notes that requesting access to unwanted products causes unnecessary billing events.
  </Step>

  <Step id="get-business-approval" title="Get business approval for production">
    Before production access is activated, TIMOCOM's Product or Partner Management team reviews your integration. Once approved, TIMOCOM provides your production client credentials. Replace the test credentials in Nango with them.

    Items created in the test environment can't be migrated to production. See TIMOCOM's [Launch checklist](https://developer.timocom.com/docs/introduction-1/9x5j9gc051rmt-launch-checklist) and [Business approval](https://developer.timocom.com/docs/introduction-1/142eb2854f77c-business-approval) requirements.
  </Step>

  <Step id="next" title="Next">
    Follow the [*Quickstart*](/docs/getting-started/quickstart) to connect your first account. The users who connect must be TIMOCOM customers with access to TIMOCOM.
  </Step>
