# Tenable - How do I link my account?

## Overview

To authenticate with Tenable, you will need:

1. **Access Key** - Your Tenable API access key.
2. **Secret Key** - Your Tenable API secret key.

This guide will walk you through generating these in your Tenable account.

### Prerequisites:

* You must have a Tenable Vulnerability Management account

### Instructions:

#### Step 1: Generating your API keys

1. Log in to your Tenable Vulnerability Management account.
2. Select the **Settings** icon, then select **My Account**.
3. Select the **API Keys** tab.
4. Select **Generate**. This replaces any existing API keys for your account — any integration using the old keys will stop working.
5. Tenable displays your new **Access Key** and **Secret Key**.

<Tip>Copy both keys and store them securely — Tenable only shows the Secret Key once, at generation time.</Tip>

#### Step 2: Enter credentials in the Connect UI

Once you have your **Access Key** and **Secret Key**:

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with Tenable.
2. Enter your **Access Key** and **Secret Key** in their respective fields.
3. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.

You are now connected to Tenable.
