# Neon (MCP)

> Connect AI tools to Neon via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to manage projects, branches, schemas, and databases

## 🚀 Quickstart

Connect to the Neon MCP server with Nango and call MCP tools in minutes. Neon MCP uses OAuth 2.0 with **dynamic client registration**, so no app registration is required.

<Steps>
  <Step id="create-integration" title="Create the integration">
    In Nango ([free signup](https://app.nango.dev)), open **Integrations**, select **Configure New Integration**, and choose **Neon (MCP)**.
  </Step>

  <Step id="authorize-neon" title="Authorize Neon">
    Open **Connections**, select **Add Test Connection**, and authorize access to your Neon account. Neon asks whether to grant read and write access. Later, you'll let your users authorize directly from your app.
  </Step>

  <Step id="call-neon-mcp" title="Call the Neon MCP API">
    Make your first MCP request with the initialize handshake. Replace the placeholders below with your Nango Environment API key, integration ID, and connection ID:

## 📚 Neon (MCP) guides

Nango uses **dynamic client registration** with Neon's MCP OAuth server. You do not need to register an MCP application.
