# Hail (MCP)

> Connect AI tools to Hail via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for inbound and outbound phone, SMS, and email

## 🚀 Quickstart

Connect to the Hail MCP server with Nango and call MCP tools in minutes. Hail MCP uses OAuth 2.1 with **dynamic client registration**, so no app registration is required.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create the integration">
    In Nango ([free signup](https://app.nango.dev)), go to [Integrations](https://app.nango.dev/dev/integrations) -> *Configure New Integration* -> *Hail (MCP)*.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize Hail">
    Go to [Connections](https://app.nango.dev/dev/connections) -> *Add Test Connection* -> *Authorize*, then log in to Hail. Later, you'll let your users do the same directly from your app.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Call a Hail MCP tool">
    Make your first MCP request (initialize handshake). Replace the placeholders below with your [Environment API key](/docs/reference/backend/http-api/api-keys), [integration ID](https://app.nango.dev/dev/integrations), and [connection ID](https://app.nango.dev/dev/connections):

        Install Nango's backend SDK with `npm i @nangohq/node`. Then run:

        ```typescript theme={null}
        import { Nango } from '@nangohq/node';
        const nango = new Nango({ apiKey: '<NANGO-API-KEY>' });
        const res = await nango.post({
        });
        console.log(res.data);
        ```

    Or fetch credentials with the [Node SDK](/docs/reference/backend/backend-sdk/node#get-a-connection-with-credentials) or [API](/docs/reference/backend/http-api/connection/get).

    ✅ You're connected! Check the [Logs](https://app.nango.dev/dev/logs) tab in Nango to inspect requests.

  <Step title="Implement Nango in your app">
    Follow our [Auth implementation guide](/docs/guides/auth/auth-guide) to integrate Nango in your app.

## 📚 Hail (MCP) guides

Nango uses **dynamic client registration** with Hail's MCP OAuth server. You do not need to register an MCP application. Hail exposes tools to place calls and send SMS and email, plus read and tracking tools across all three channels.
