# Formstack Documents

> Integrate your application with the Formstack Documents API

## 🚀 Quickstart

Connect to Formstack Documents with Nango and see data flow in 2 minutes.

**1. Create the integration**

In Nango, open the **Integrations** tab, select **Configure New Integration**, and choose **Formstack Documents**.

**2. Authorize Formstack Documents**

Open the **Connections** tab, select **Add Test Connection**, and enter your Formstack Documents API Key and API Secret. Later, you'll let your users do the same directly from your app.

**3. Call the Formstack Documents API**

Make your first request to list documents. Replace the placeholders below with your [Environment API key](https://nango.dev/docs/reference/backend/http-api/api-keys.md), integration ID, and connection ID:

> [tab] cURL
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> curl "https://api.nango.dev/proxy/documents" \
>   -H "Authorization: Bearer <NANGO-API-KEY>" \
>   -H "Provider-Config-Key: <INTEGRATION-ID>" \
>   -H "Connection-Id: <CONNECTION-ID>"
> ```

> [tab] Node
>
> Install Nango's backend SDK with `npm i @nangohq/node`. Then run:
>
> ```typescript theme={null}
> import { Nango } from '@nangohq/node';
>
> const nango = new Nango({ apiKey: '<NANGO-API-KEY>' });
>
> const res = await nango.get({
>     endpoint: '/documents',
>     providerConfigKey: '<INTEGRATION-ID>',
>     connectionId: '<CONNECTION-ID>'
> });
>
> console.log(res.data);
> ```

Or fetch credentials with the [Node SDK](https://nango.dev/docs/reference/sdks/node.md#get-a-connection-with-credentials) or [API](https://nango.dev/docs/reference/api/connection/get.md).

✅ You're connected! Open the **Logs** tab in Nango to inspect requests.

**4. Implement Nango in your app**

Follow our [quickstart](https://nango.dev/docs/getting-started/quickstart.md) to integrate Nango in your app.

To obtain your credentials, follow the setup guide linked below.

## API notes

The API still uses the legacy `webmerge.me` hostname. Standard API requests use `https://www.webmerge.me/api` and require the API Key and API Secret through Basic Auth.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Legacy merge URLs such as `/merge/{documentId}/{documentKey}` and `/route/{routeId}/{routeKey}` use the root `https://www.webmerge.me` host. When proxying those endpoints through Nango, set `Base-Url-Override: https://www.webmerge.me`.

> [!TIP]
>
> Enable **Advanced Settings -> Require API Key for all merge requests (custom integrations only)** in Formstack Documents so custom integration merge requests consistently require API credentials.
