# Exotel

> Integrate your application with the Exotel API

## 🚀 Quickstart

Connect to Exotel with Nango and see data flow in 2 minutes.

**1. Create the integration**

In Nango ([free signup](https://app.nango.dev)), go to **Integrations** -> *Configure New Integration* -> *Exotel*.

**2. Authorize Exotel**

Go to **Connections** -> *Add Test Connection* -> *Authorize*, then select your API hostname and enter your Account SID, API key, and API token. Later, you'll let your users do the same directly from your app.

**3. Call the Exotel API**

Let's make your first request to the Exotel API to get your account balance. Replace the placeholders below with your [Environment API key](https://nango.dev/docs/reference/backend/http-api/api-keys.md), integration ID, connection ID, and Account SID:

> [tab] cURL
>
> ```bash theme={null}
> curl "https://api.nango.dev/proxy/v1/Accounts/<ACCOUNT-SID>/Balance.json" \
>   -H "Authorization: Bearer <NANGO-API-KEY>" \
>   -H "Provider-Config-Key: <INTEGRATION-ID>" \
>   -H "Connection-Id: <CONNECTION-ID>"
> ```

> [tab] Node
>
> Install Nango's backend SDK with `npm i @nangohq/node`. Then run:
>
> ```typescript theme={null}
> import { Nango } from '@nangohq/node';
>
> const nango = new Nango({ apiKey: '<NANGO-API-KEY>' });
>
> const res = await nango.get({
>     endpoint: '/v1/Accounts/<ACCOUNT-SID>/Balance.json',
>     providerConfigKey: '<INTEGRATION-ID>',
>     connectionId: '<CONNECTION-ID>'
> });
>
> console.log(res.data);
> ```

Nango sends your API key and API token with HTTP Basic authentication on every request.

Or fetch credentials with the [Node SDK](https://nango.dev/docs/reference/backend/backend-sdk/node.md#get-a-connection-with-credentials) or [API](https://nango.dev/docs/reference/backend/http-api/connections/get.md).

✅ You're connected! Check the **Logs** tab in Nango to inspect requests.

**4. Implement Nango in your app**

Follow our [quickstart](https://nango.dev/docs/getting-started/quickstart.md) to integrate Nango in your app.

## API gotchas

* Every path includes your Account SID, such as `/v1/Accounts/<ACCOUNT-SID>/Calls.json`. It's saved in the connection config as `accountSid`.
* The API hostname depends on your account's region: `api.exotel.com` for Singapore and `api.in.exotel.com` for Mumbai. The region is set when the account is created and can't be changed.
* Voice APIs allow 200 requests per minute. Above that, Exotel returns `429`.
* Exotel serves its APIs from two hosts. Nango uses the main API host by default. To call the contact center (CCM) APIs, set the `Base-Url-Override` header to `https://ccm-<HOSTNAME>`, where `<HOSTNAME>` is the connection's `hostname`:

| Host (Singapore / Mumbai) | APIs |
| - | - |
| `api.exotel.com` / `api.in.exotel.com` (default) | `/v1/...`: calls, call flows, call records, SMS, numbers, and account balance |
| `ccm-api.exotel.com` / `ccm-api.in.exotel.com` | `/v2/...` and `/v3/...` contact center APIs, such as connecting agents and CCM call records |

## 🧩 Pre-built syncs & actions for Exotel

Enable them in your dashboard. Extend and customize to fit your needs.
