# Browserbase - How do I link my account?

## Overview

To authenticate with Browserbase, you need:

1. **API Key** — the API key of your Browserbase project.

This guide will show you how to get it.

### Prerequisites

* A Browserbase account. The free plan includes API access and needs no credit card: [sign up](https://www.browserbase.com/sign-up).

### Step 1: Copy your API key

1. Sign in to [Browserbase](https://www.browserbase.com/sign-in).
2. In the left sidebar, click **Settings**, or open the [Settings page](https://www.browserbase.com/settings). The **General** tab opens.
3. In the **API key** row, click the copy button.

### Step 2: Enter your API key in the Connect UI

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with Browserbase.
2. Enter your **API Key** in the designated field.
3. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.
